ExpanDrive
Open your buckets from Finder, File Explorer or your Linux file manager.
ExpanDrive mounts Zata as a network drive on Windows, macOS and Linux, so you can open your buckets from File Explorer, Finder or your Linux file manager. It connects with its Amazon S3 connection type. Prefer video? Watch the setup video.
Before you start
- A bucket — see Create a bucket.
- An access key from the same region as the bucket — see Access keys.
- ExpanDrive installed — download ExpanDrive.
Connection settings
| Setting | Value |
|---|---|
| Connection type | Amazon S3 |
| Server | idr01.zata.ai for Indore, bom01.zata.ai for Mumbai |
| Access Key / Secret Key | from Access Keys in the Zata console — the key must be from the same region as the bucket |
| Region | optional — leave it empty or use us-east-1 |
| Bucket name | optional — your bucket, to open one bucket only. Needed for sub-user keys. |
Set up ExpanDrive
Open ExpanDrive, select New Connection and choose Amazon S3.
Enter the Server, Access Key and Secret Key. Give the connection a Nickname, for example Zata. Leave Bucket name empty to see all your buckets. On Windows, pick a Drive Letter and keep Automatically Mount as Drive ticked. Select Save.
The connection appears under CONNECTIONS with your buckets. Zata is now also a drive in File Explorer, Finder or your Linux file manager.
Test it
Copy a small file onto the new drive. Check that it appears in the bucket in the Zata console under Buckets. Then copy it back to a local folder and open it.
Troubleshooting
| Problem | Fix |
|---|---|
| Cannot connect | Check that Server matches the region of your key and bucket. |
| Access denied or invalid credentials | Copy the keys again from Access Keys, without extra spaces, and make sure the key is active. |
| No buckets shown | Your key cannot list buckets, for example a sub-user key. Enter the bucket in Bucket name. |
For other errors, see Access denied and Endpoint and region.
