# Sharing an Object Using Presigned URL

The Share Object feature is used to generate a temporary and secure access link (Presigned URL) for an object. This link allows users to access the object for a limited time without changing bucket permissions.

1.Go to the bucket, locate the required object, and click on the **Actions (three dots)** option. Then select **Share**.

2. **Set Time Duration**\
   The Share Object window will appear. Enter the required time in:

* **Number of hours**
* **Number of minutes**

This defines how long the link will remain active.\ <br>

Click on **Copy URL** to copy the link and share it with the intended user. The link will remain active until the specified expiration time, even if the bucket and object are private.\
\
After copying the URL to paste these URLs your browser and the object is downloaded automatically.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.zata.ai/manage/bucket/storing-objects-in-a-bucket/sharing-an-object-using-presigned-url.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
