# Delete a Subuser

Permanently remove a subuser from your account

Deleting a subuser permanently removes it from your account, along with all of its access permissions. This cannot be undone. If you only want to block its access for a while, [suspend it](/subusers/suspend-and-reactivate.md) instead.

### Steps to delete a subuser

1. Log in to the **Zata.ai Dashboard** with your root (account owner) account.
2. Go to the **Subusers** section. This opens the **Sub-user Management** list.
3. Find the subuser you want to remove and open its **Actions** menu.
4. Click **Delete**.
5. In the **Delete Subuser** dialog, type the subuser's username to confirm.
6. Click **Delete Subuser**.

You can also delete a subuser from its detail page by clicking **Delete Subuser**.

### What happens when a subuser is deleted

* The subuser is removed from your account and no longer appears in the **Sub-user Management** list.
* All of its access permissions are permanently removed.
* The action cannot be undone. To give the same person access again, [create a new subuser](/subusers/create-a-subuser.md).
