Billing

Prepaid Billing

Zata.ai’s prepaid billing model allows users to purchase storage in advance with flexible upgrade options.

Key Points:

  • Billing Cycle: The cycle starts on the date of purchase and continues for the selected duration (e.g., monthly or yearly).

  • Storage Upgrades: Users can upgrade storage anytime after 2 days from the initial purchase or a previous upgrade. When upgrading, a new billing cycle starts from the upgrade date. The remaining balance of the last plan is adjusted while upgrading to ensure fair billing.

  • Transaction Gap: A 48-hour transaction gap is maintained between consecutive upgrades to prevent billing discrepancies.

  • No Downgrade During Billing Cycle: Storage cannot be downgraded within the same cycle once upgraded.

  • Plan Renewal Window: Users can renew their current plan starting 5 days before the end of the billing cycle to avoid service interruptions. Whether renewal occurs 3, 4, or 5 days before the cycle ends, the next billing cycle will begin immediately after the current cycle ends.

  • Account Suspension on Non-Renewal: If the plan is not renewed by the end of the billing cycle, the user’s account and services will be suspended until renewal is completed.

Pay-as-you-go Billing

Zata.ai’s pay-as-you-go model provides a flexible billing structure where users pay based on actual storage consumption.

Key Points:

  • Billing Rate: ₹2.5 per TB per hour, billed monthly at the end of each billing cycle. Invoices are generated on a per-TB basis.

  • Minimum Billing Commitment: Once enrolled in pay-as-you-go, users will be charged for a minimum of 1 TB of storage per billing cycle, regardless of actual consumption.

  • Invoice Generation & Delivery: An invoice is generated at the end of each billing cycle (one month from plan activation) and sent via email, and is also available in the billing section of the dashboard.

  • Payment Terms: Users have 7 days from invoice generation to complete payment. Accounts will be suspended if payment is not received within this period.

  • No Fixed Commitment: Users pay only for the storage they use beyond the 1 TB minimum during the billing period.

  • Storage Scaling: Storage usage is tracked dynamically, and charges are calculated accordingly.

  • Automatic Billing: Total usage is calculated at the end of each cycle, and the invoice is generated automatically.

  • Data Retention & Deletion: If a suspended account is not renewed within 90 days from the suspension date, all stored data will be permanently deleted. This action is irreversible, and once data is deleted, it cannot be recovered.

  • Repeated Payment Defaults: Customers who repeatedly miss renewal deadlines or default on payments may have their accounts subject to further limitations or suspension at Zata.ai’s discretion. Restoration of service may require settlement of all outstanding dues and could involve additional verification steps.
