# Connect Iperius Backup with Zata.ai

This guide explains the process to set up Iperius Backup with Zata.ai’s S3-compatible storage for automated, secure file backups.

### Create a New Backup Job <a href="#step-1-create-a-new-backup-job" id="step-1-create-a-new-backup-job"></a>

1. Launch Iperius Backup.
2. Click **Create new backup job**.

### Add Zata.ai as Cloud Destination <a href="#step-2-add-zataai-as-cloud-destination" id="step-2-add-zataai-as-cloud-destination"></a>

1. In the **Destinations** tab, select **Cloud**.
2. Choose **Amazon S3** (compatible with Zata.ai).
3. Click **New Account**, and fill out:

   * Name: `zata`
   * Type: `S3`
   * Access Key ID/Secret Access Key
   * Service Point (Endpoint): `https://idr01.zata.ai`
   * Region: `CentralIndia`
   * Enable **Use SSL** option.
   * Save the account settings.

### Select Bucket and Further Settings <a href="#step-3-select-bucket-and-further-settings" id="step-3-select-bucket-and-further-settings"></a>

1. Choose your Zata.ai bucket (e.g., `test`).
2. Optionally, add a subpath for organization.
3. Set backup options:

   * **Backup type:** Choose between full or incremental.
   * **Number of copies:** Set retention (e.g., 1 or more).
   * Enable zip compression and AES-256 encryption if desired.
   * Set a password for zip files for added security.
   * Choose how zip files are named and whether to create individual zip files per item.
   * Select path format inside zip files ("Full path including drive" recommended).

### Step Scheduling Automated Backups <a href="#step-4-scheduling-automated-backups" id="step-4-scheduling-automated-backups"></a>

1. Navigate to **Scheduling** tab.
2. Enable **Run backup automatically**.
3. Choose schedule:
   * Weekly (select days)
   * Monthly (select calendar days)
   * Custom intervals (e.g., every X days/hours/minutes)
4. Add execution times as needed (e.g., 20:00).

### Review and Save Job <a href="#step-5-review-and-save-job" id="step-5-review-and-save-job"></a>

1. In the **Summary** tab:
   * Enter Job name (e.g., `Zata`), optional description.
   * Confirm items, destinations, and schedule.
   * Optionally, enable RMM console monitoring.
   * Option to shut down computer after backup completion.
2. Click **OK** to save the job.

### Run Backup and Verify <a href="#step-6-run-backup-and-verify" id="step-6-run-backup-and-verify"></a>

1. Execute the backup job manually for the first time.
2. Confirm backup progress and completion message.
3. Check Zata.ai Console to verify uploaded files.

### Additional Notes <a href="#additional-notes" id="additional-notes"></a>

* **Immutability:** For immutable backups, enable Object Lock on your Zata.ai bucket before configuration.
* **Security:** Use AES-256 encryption and passwords for sensitive files.
* **Performance:** Iperius supports multi-threaded, multipart uploads for large files.
* Ensure system time is synchronized for S3 signature validation.

### Troubleshooting <a href="#troubleshooting" id="troubleshooting"></a>

* If backups fail, check log files (from "See log" after backup completion).
* Verify credentials and endpoint accuracy in Cloud Account setup.
* Make sure your bucket exists and Object Lock is enabled if needed.
